TKAAR is a bitter failure, despite a subject that seemed promising, or at least to have some potential. The plot turns out to be ultra thin and really lacks substance. There are quite a few themes and questions that weren't fully developed and resolved so that you end up with a sense of superficiality about this story. Moreover, you don't understand where Cholodenko wanted to go, and the cliché message that conveys the movie doesn't help at all.As for the characters, they are quite linear and lack depth. The cast is average but you can't really blame them; Mark Ruffalo seems to be the only one who stood out and his performance wasn't that good.A movie to forget.
